Aladdin as he appears in "Shrek: Totally Tangled Tales"
Aladdin is a character who appears briefly in the "Shrek: Totally Tangled Tales" DVD game. He is from the Arabian Nights story, "Aladdin and the Magic Lamp."
Shrek: Totally Tangled Tales[]
In one of the storybook animations, Aladdin dusts off the magic lamp, awakening the Genie. Shocked by the sight, Aladdin runs off, leaving the Genie confused.
Various trivia questions make reference to his role in the original story. Particularly his relationships with his mother, the evil magician, the princess, and the vizier. He had initially been tricked by the magician into retrieving a magic lamp. After being trapped underground, Aladdin miraculously escapes and goes home to clean the lamp. To his amazement, a Genie emerges and grants him any wish he desired. This leads to him getting his own palace and marrying the princess. However, the magician catches wind of the boy's success and forces the Genie to work for him as payback. Aladdin is able to fight back, and continue living happily in his palace.
