The Happily Ever After Potion is a potion stolen from the Fairy Godmother’s Potion Factory in Shrek 2. It must've been believed that when Shrek drank the potion, it caused the rain to fall, in order for it to locate Fiona and take effect. When Shrek spilled some on a mushroom it was transformed into a rose after it got rained on.
The label reads:
"Happily Ever After Potion maximum strength. For you and your true love. Drink of this and bliss will be thine happiness comfort and beauty divine" The other side of the label reads: "Fair relief of symptoms due to common unhappiness. Warning: side effects may include itching, oozing, weeping. Not intended for heart patients or people with personality disorders. To make the effects of the potion permanent the drinker must obtain his or her true love's first kiss by midnight"
Athough, when Shrek read the label, he stated: "If one of you drinks this, you both will be fine..." meaning that he didn't read the label correctly, or he sped through it. And when Puss read the WARNING label bit, he said: "Not intended for heart patients or those with... nervous disorders." then looked at Donkey, seeing that he's hyper and caught between being positive and a pessimist, as well as the final line: "To make the effects of the potion permanent, the drinker must obtain his true love's kiss by midnight."
It gives people more beautiful and comfortable forms. If the drinker and his or her love kiss before midnight they remain in their beautiful forms otherwise, they will change back to the forms they were in before the Potion effected them.
