Monsieur Hood (known as Robin Hood) is a local robber and the leader of the Merrymen.

Appearances[]

Shrek[]

While Fiona sings, Monsieur Hood is heard crying "La liberté" (which is French for "the freedom") and he swings her up in a tree in an attempt to "rescue" her from Shrek, even though he is actually kidnapping her. He and his Merrymen sing a merry tune describing their reasons for kidnapping her, but after having cornered Shrek, ready to strike him down, Fiona knocks Monsieur Hood unconscious and starts fighting the Merrymen, easily defeating them. He is later seen at their wedding, indicating he had become friends with them.

Shrek in the Swamp Karaoke Dance Party[]

In the short, Hood and his Merrymen sing "YMCA" and perform in the finale. He also sings "Happy Together" with Shrek and Fiona.

Swamp Talk[]

Despite not making a physical appearance, he is mentioned (by the name Robin Hood) in a couple of episodes. In "Robin Hood: Good or Evil?", he was the subject of a debate between Shrek and Donkey regarding his morality. In "Celebrity Fairytale Couples", he was supposedly spotted giving Little Red Riding Hood a share of money he stole from the rich.

Video Game Appearances[]

Monsieur Hood (known as Robin Hood in the game) appears an unlockable character in Shrek Super Slam. His super slam is his fast raging arrows.

He also appears with his Merrymen in the Shrek 2 video game as mini-bosses/enemies. He's made appearances in Shrek Super Party as a playable character and Shrek's Carnival Craze in two mini-games as a target. Despite being playable in Super Party, he has no speaking lines.

Trivia[]
