–The Fairy Godmother
The Fairy Godmothers are three fairies who appear in the first Shrek film. They are presumably based on the three fairies from Disney's Sleeping Beauty.
The Fairy Godmothers are exiled along with other fairytale creatures to Shrek's swamp, after probably being sold to Lord Farquaad by Sleeping Beauty. While taking refuge in the swamp, they are frightened by Shrek's ranting and yelling and they fly back to their tent. However, the Fairy Godmothers later cheer Shrek and Donkey on their journey to Duloc and fly along after them as they leave the swamp for Duloc
At the end of the film, the Fairy Godmothers are seen at Shrek and Fiona's wedding. The Fairy Godmother dressed in pink uses her wand to turn the Three Blind Mice into three white horses as well as an onion into a carriage (a reference to Cinderella) for the newly weds to ride off to their honeymoon. The Fairy Godmothers then watch on with the others as they ride off into the sunset.
- The Pink Fairy Godmother is a homage to the stereotypical Fairy Godmother, as she provides the carriage and horses for Shrek and Fiona in a similar way Cinderella's Fairy Godmother conjured a coach and four in the original fairy tale.
- The Blue Fairy Godmother appears on the cover of Shrek: Fairy Tale Freakdown.
